Nursing home abuse
Many residents do not speak up when they are being abused. This may be for several reasons. Some may be physically unable to do so, allowing the abuse to continue. Others may keep abuse to themselves out of fear of persecution. Some feel they may be a burden to their loved ones if they complain about abuse.
If you are responsible for administering care to a loved one who is growing older and increasingly dependent on the assistance of others, you may consider placing him or her in a nursing home. While assisted living facilities are a popular solution for many, you should be careful about the establishment that you choose. Sadly, many nursing homes are understaffed or fail to adequately train their staff members, resulting in gross negligence and mistreatment.
If a nursing home falls below a standard of acceptable care that it provides its residents then the safety and welfare of it’s residents are at stake. If this happens then Care Home Negligence could be an issue and something needs to be done about it.
In any case, nursing home abuse is never acceptable, especially since most are paid services. Your loved one’s final years should be as comfortable as possible, but abusive attendants may cause your loved one to live in constant fear in the final days.
